Specific bone deformities can be acutely corrected using internal devices, such as nails or plates. This may be suitable for mild deformities, such as Blount’s disease, small tibial bone defects or other angulation. In some of these procedures, the bone is corrected by osteotomy and then an internal device closes the gap.
